How About Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Dustin Poirier in an Australian Stadium?

There’s been buzz that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier will end up fighting at the UFC’s September 7th card in Abu Dhabi. But, now Robert Whittaker is pushing for that fight to go down in Australian stadium, alongside his planned scrap with Israel Adesanya.

Could this happen? It could. But, chances are the UFC would prefer to use these fights as headliners for separate, pay-per-view cards.

Adesanya recently secured a fight with Whittaker, by outscoring Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 to win the 185 interim belt. Poirier also fought on that card, and won the interim 155 belt by defeating Max Hollowy by decision. The champ Nurmagomedov has called for his bout with Poirier to take place in September.
