The debut of Gennady Golovkin on DAZN is now official, as he will take on Steve Rolls on June 8.
Golovkin and Rolls will meet inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. “GGG” signed with DAZN earlier this year to a multi-fight, multi-year deal.
“I am very excited to be returning to the ring and bringing the Big Drama Show back to Madison Square Garden. The Garden’s fans are fantastic,” said Golovkin (thanks to CBS Sports for the quotes). “I love boxing and I promise to bring the best of me to everyone who will be watching me in an all-action fight with Steve Rolls. I am very happy that GGG Promotions has a new home at DAZN.”
Golovkin, a former unified middleweight champion, lost his last bout to Canelo Alvarez via majority decision. Sitting at 38-1, he owns 34 career knockouts and will be looking to secure a possible third date with Alvarez should he get by Rolls.
Rolls is 19-0 in his career with 10 wins coming via knockout.
