Tim Means’ first stoppage loss due to strikes turned out to be a very costly one for the aggressive and rugged fighter.

The welterweight faced Nike Price at UFC Wichita in a contest many folks likely (or should have) had on their must-see list. As expected, the two came out hard, and as the first round neared its end, Means cracked Price with several big lefts. As Price retreated, however, he caught Means with a booming right hook that sent “The Dirty Bird” to the deck.

The replay of the finish showed that Means’ leg was caught under him when he fell, and afterward, he and his wife Brenda Gonzales-Means reported the news below (WARNING: a graphic image of an injury follows).
