Most folks understood that the UFC Wichita main event between Junior dos Santos and Derrick Lewis likely wouldn’t last five rounds, and that turned out to be the case.

Both heavyweights came out firing kicks, and early on, dos Santos pressed forward while Lewis looked to counter. Dos Santos cracked Lewis with a huge overhand right midway into the round, but Lewis proceeded to fire back a massive punch of his own. Dos Santos tagged Lewis with a spinning kick to the body that crumpled Lewis over. But, as the former champ looked to follow up, Lewis lunged forward with a right hand. As the opening round ended, Lewis still appeared to be hurt from the vicious, body shot.

Lewis continued to threaten with switch kicks in round two, but a couple of minutes in, JDS stunned Lewis with a cracking right. After dos Santos followed up with a flurry of punches, the bout was called. “Cigano” has won three in a row.
