Curtis Blaydes

Curtis Blaydes returned to the win column tonight at UFC Nashiville, by earning a clear cut, decision win over Justin Willis.

Blaydes took Willis down not too long into the fight, and although the latter got back to his feet a couple of times, Blaydes continued to take him back to the mat. Willis worked his way back up shortly before the opening round ended, but Blaydes swept him back to the floor and landed some shots from above.

Shortly into round two, Blaydes cracked Willis with a booming right and followed up with a takedown. Blaydes controlled the action from above, and stayed somewhat busy with punches.

The opening minutes of round three was spent on the feet, but, eventually, Blaydes clinched up in search of a takedown. Willis defended those attempts along the cage, but when the action returned to the center of the cage, Blaydes scored with a nicely timed TD. After the final horn sounded, there was no doubt that Blaydes would be awarded the win.
