Anthony Pettis had his challenges against Stephen Thompson tonight at UFC Nashville, but the former lightweight champ knocked the welterweight contender in electrifying fashion.
Pettis came out pressuring and moving forward, but Thompson countered frequently with kicks and punches. Later in the round, Pettis missed with a spinning head-kick as Thompson appeared to be landing more often. Before the first round ended, Pettis scored with a nice right hand but he headed to his corner with a bloody nose.
