Smackdown Live: 8 pm EST

Shane McMahon comes out to the ring to explain his actions against The Miz and his father at Fastlane. The crowd boos him and chants “You suck!” Shane tells the ring announcer to announce him as “The best in the world.” When he does, Shane roughs him up and tells the ring announcer to say it like he means it. So the announcer says it again. Shane roughs him up some more and orders him to say it with more conviction.

Finally Shane gets to explaining what happened this past Sunday. Shane says people are always trying to rub up against him and get something from him. They want stock options or they want to know how Shane can help them get ahead. It’s all about them, Shane says, but now that’s over. That ended Sunday when he beat the holy hell out of Miz. Shane says it was liberating, and he’s only just begun because he’s going to do it again at WrestleMania.

Randy Orton comes out and states that this isn’t “The house that AJ Styles built.” Orton says he was a world champion in WWE while Styles was still competing in bingo halls. “This is the house that Randy Orton built,” he says. Then AJ Styles comes out to retort. Styles reminds Orton about all the help he’s had in his career, not least of which came from being the son of a WWE legend. And then with Evolution Orton was able to ride the success of other big stars like Triple H and Ric Flair.

The two men trade barbs until Styles finally challenges Orton to a match at WrestleMania. Orton looks up at the ‘Mania sign and ponders a moment before taking his leave, without giving an answer.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon comes out to address the Kofi Kingston situation. He says he already gave Kofi an opportunity to earn a title shot, in the surprise Handicap Match at Fastlane, but alas Kofi failed when he lost that match to The Bar. New Day’s music hits and they come out with stern looks on their faces. As they get to the ring, the crowd chants Kofi’s name. Xavier Woods and Big E angrily make the case that Kofi deserves the match and that Vince has been screwing him. Vince says Kofi “doesn’t deserve a damn thing!”

Big E argues that the WWE Universe is clearly clamoring to have Kofi compete for the title. Vince says he really wishes Kofi deserved a shot. Vince rattles off some of Kofi’s accomplishments and admits that he’s impressive. But if he deserved the shot, Vince says, Kofi would have gotten it a long time ago. Vince says Kofi will one day be in the Hall Of Fame, but it will be as part of the New Day, not by himself. Kofi interjects and tells Vince that he’s busted his hump for 11 years, missing birthdays, missing wedding, being on the road with WWE. And he’s never complained, Kofi says.

Kofi asks Vince to tell him, man to man, what he needs to do and he will do it. These people believe in me, Kofi says. As Vince is about to answer, Randy Orton’s music hits and he comes out. Then Samoa Joe comes out. Then The Bar. And Rowan. Vince says if he beats all those men in a Gauntlet Match next week, then he’ll go to WrestleMania to compete for the title. They all run to the ring and a brawl breaks out, ending with New Day driving all comers into retreat as the show comes to a close.
