It looks like the UFC’s upcoming event in Fort Lauderdale has received a barnburner of a welterweight fight, as Mike Perry’s reporting he’s going to face Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira at the upcoming event.
The heavy-handed fighter recently shared out the image and comments below, and MMA Junkie is also reporting that “Platinum” will battle Oliveira at the April 27th card. Oliveira was originally scheduled to face Jingliang Li.
Perry (12-4) is looking to get back on track after losing via submission to Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in December. “Platinum” has gone 2-3 now in his last 5 bouts.
Oliveira (19-6-1), meanwhile, was submitted by Gunnar Nelson in December, and the rugged vet is 3-2 in his last 5 fights.
That’s a bout that’s almost certain to entertain and then some.
