Megan Anderson is excited by the fact the UFC has reportedly signed some more featherweight fighters for her division, but the contender’s not down with TUF 28 competitors dropping to 135.

TUF 28 was held, ostensibly, to add more 145 women to the UFC roster. Case in point, the UFC rankings page doesn’t even include the women’s featherweight division…But, Macy Chiasson, who won TUF 28 has already dropped to 135 and she’s not the only fighter who’s made the move.

Well, Anderson was on hand at UFC Wichita last weekend, and while discussing the issue, the former Invicta FC champ said this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I just think it’s kind of bull(expletive) that you were in ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ to build the featherweight division, and then everyone’s dropping to bantamweight,” Anderson said. “I understand (in) previous seasons that people have gone up a weight division, and they’ve kind of gone back down once they get in. But this whole season was specifically built for building the featherweight division. So, I think it’s kind of bullsh-t.”

“She (Chiasson) looked great, but it’s easy to look good against someone who’s not very good. I think that was a perfect fight for her to come into the UFC, and I hope she does well at bantamweight. But by the looks of it, doesn’t look like she wants to come back up to featherweight. She considers herself a true featherweight, but if you can make 135, you’re not a true featherweight.”

So, we’ll see what happens. Anderson (9-3) is still waiting on her third UFC bout. Most recently the Australian fighter scored a stoppage win over Cat Zingano.
