Joe Soto, who stepped in on short notice to challenge TJ Dillashaw during Dillashaw’s first reign as UFC bantamweight champion, posted a message on social media in regards to news that the now-former titleholder failed a drug test.
“No surprise here we knew this for years,” Soto wrote on Facebook. “I was told by hos old (teammates) when I fought him he was on everything!”
Dillashaw has since relinquished the title and been handed a year-long suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission.
Soto, a former Bellator champion, was released by the UFC last year after a second consecutive loss. He is 18-7 overall and holds wins over Wilson Reis, Rani Yahya, Chris Beal and Terrion Ware during his career.
