Combate Americas announced a featured, main card television bout between Alejandro “Pato” Martinez (4-2) and Erick “The Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez (8-3), as well as a complete, six-bout preliminary card for the first installment of its previously announced ‘Mexico vs. Spain’ two-part Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event series, at the historic Lucha Libre venue, Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX on Friday, March 8.

The previously announced event, headlined by a lightweight (155 pounds) showdown between Alvaro “Chango” Herrera (9-6) of Guadalajara and Ignacio “Levium Armorum” Capella (5-1) of San Luis, Menorca, Spain, airs live in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT), and in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT).

Martinez of Tijuana, B.C., MX is looking to notch his second consecutive victory after the 27-year-old submitted Jordan Beltran with a rear-naked choke in the second round (1:09) of the first-ever Combate Americas live event in Guadalajara last October 26, while the 27-year-old Gonzalez of Redondo Beach, Calif. is looking to rebound from a submission (rear-naked choke) defeat at the hands of Andres “The Bullet” Quintana in the first-ever “COPA COMBATE” one-round qualifying bout last September 28.

In preliminary bout action announced today, undefeated Team Grasso sensation Paulina Vargas (3-0) of Guadalajara will square off with Erendira “Aketzaly” Ordoñez (2-2) of Mexico City, MX in a 120-pound catchweight contest.

A matchup between two unbeaten lightweight (155 pounds) upstarts will see Genaro “Rayadito” Valdez (2-0) of Tijuana throw down with Hilario Portales (3-0) of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

Another unbeaten prospect, Guillero “Memo” Torres (2-0) of Guadalajara will collide with Caleb “Bandido” Moctezuma (3-2) of Puebla, Puebla, Mexico at bantamweight (135 pounds).

In the lone heavyweight contest of the night, Alejandro “Goliath” Solorzano (4-2) of Guadalajara will return to Combate Americas action to battle undefeated Jaime “El Chihuahua” Arevalo (8-0) of Hidalgo De Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.

A flyweight (125 pounds) matchup will pit dynamic rising star Axel Osuna (4-1) of Guadalajara against Bosco Boyer (0-0) of Puerto Vallarta.

Leading off the preliminary bout card will be a lightweight tilt between unbeaten Ulises “La Roca” Palamares (2-0) of Guadalajara and Eric “El Caballo” Garibay (2-1) of Guadalajara.

In a featured women’s atomweight (105 pounds) contest, unbeaten prospect Alitzel Mariscal (1-0) of Guadalajara will clash with 12-time Spanish national Judo champion Vanessa “Chiquinta” Rico (3-4) of Alicante, Spain.

Doors at Arena Coliseo will open for the event at 6 p.m. local time, and the first preliminary bout will begin at 7 p.m.
