Colby Covington clearly had a busy and heated weekend at UFC 235, as “Chaos” is reporting he was told off by Nate Diaz.

Covington headed to the Las Vegas card to protest the fact he wasn’t fighting for the welterweight title. The former interim champ crashed Kamaru Usman’s open workouts, confronted Dana White over his title shot snub in a casino, and nearly got into a brawl with Usman and his team after the event.

Well, as it turns out, Covington also had a bit of a run-in with the aforementioned Diaz. Covington recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, and while doing so, he made this claim (quotes via Bloody Elbow):

“Our skill level is way apart from each other. He’s a bottom feeder,” said Covington. “It was funny because he walked by me and he said, ‘F-ck you Colby.’ And he flipped me off when I was sitting front row and he walked by cageside. It’s just funny. keep that energy Nate. If you’re so tough, let’s see it inside the cage, b-tch.”

Now, Covington has verbally trashed Diaz before, so chances are that’s exactly what happened. As far as these two fighting in the Octagon? That seems very unlikely, at least, not anytime soon anyway. Covington is expected to challenge Usman next.

Diaz, meanwhile, likely wouldn’t take a fight with Covington unless he has the welterweight title, and the UFC was willing to give him a title shot (as well as a hefty, hefty check).
