Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt was hoping to get back on track and towards title contention with a victory this past weekend at UFC 235: Jones vs. Smith over Pedro Munhoz.
Instead, Garbrandt left the T-Mobile Arena with a stoppage loss and looking for more answers.
On social media, Garbrandt noted that a head-butt left him “on auto pilot” leading up to the knockout defeat.
“I got head butted and after the head butt I was on auto pilot,” Garbrandt posted, “congrats to Pedro he stuck tough. I love this fight game. I’ll be back thank you to all my supporters means a lot.”
Garbrandt, just 27 years old, has now lost three consecutive fights to fall to 11-3 overall. He dropped the title in 2017 via second round TKO to TJ Dillashaw, losing the rematch in the first round this past August.
