Thiago Santos continued his climb up the light-heavyweight ranks today at UFC Prague, as the punishing striker took out top contender, Jan Blachowicz.

Both light-heavyweights came out firing jabs and kicks. As the first round neared its end, Santos landed a couple of hard punches, and Blachowicz responded with a takedown attempt. Round two saw more of the same, but both men fired heavier punches more often. Just before the tightly contested round ended, Santos narrowly missed with a wheel kick.

Moments into round three, a charging Blachowicz was floored with a right-left counter from Santos. The latter hammered down shots from above and the fight was stopped. The Brazilian’s memorable rise up the 205 ranks continues.
