Hardcore observers likely knew that tonight’s bout between Vicente Luque and Bryan Barberena had the potential to be a war, and the welterweights more than delivered.

Both fighters came out firing punches, and although Luque tagged Barberena will several thumping shots, the rugged vet seemed completely unfazed. After multiple, action-packed exchanges Barberena sent Luque to the deck with a hard left. Luque recovered, however, and soon had Barberena defending not one, but two choke attempts.

In round two, the wild, slugfest continued, and while Luque probably landed the harder shots, Barberena led in volume. The war continued on in round three, and just when it looked like Barberena might win on account of action, Luque sent him to the deck with a cracking right and a follow-up knee. After Luque swarmed in with several more punches, the fight was stopped with only seconds left. What a fight.
