Johnny Walker won’t have to wait long for his next bout, as it’s being reported that the light-heavyweight’s offer to battle Misha Cirkunov at UFC 235, has been accepted.

Cirkunov was booked to fight fellow contender Ovince Saint Preux at the March 2nd card, but recently it was reported the latter’s been forced out due to injury. Walker responded to that news with the post below.

Well, now MMA Fighting is reporting that indeed, Walker is going to face Cirkunov at the upcoming card. The dynamic, rising star will be looking to build on a 15 second, stoppage win over Justin Ledet earlier this month at UFC Fortaleza. That victory pushed Walker’s MMA record to 16-3.

Cirkunov (14-4), meanwhile, ended a two-fight losing skid in October, by quickly submitting Patrick Cummins at UFC Moncton.

So, some might argue, considering the run Walker’s been on that this is even a better fight for UFC 235. It’s certainly a big opportunity for Walker, as Cirkunov is currently ranked #14 in the UFC’s 2-5 division.

UFC 235 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
