It’s another Bellator double-header weekend, with last night’s Bellator 215 providing the appetizer of Matt Mitrione vs. Sergei Kharitonov to tonight’s Bellator 216 main course of Michael Page vs. Paul Daley.

Unfortunately, the marquee bout scrap between Mitrione and Kharitonov lasted all of 15 seconds. Why? Because the TUF/UFC vet had a flashback to his football days, and punted the legendary Russian brawler square in the sack.

I mean, this was a field goal in the cage if there ever was one.

Poor Kharitonov. The dude is getting up there in years, and though he never quite reached the heights of popularity as Fedor Emelianenko, he was a monster back in the PRIDE FC days. He doesn’t deserve to have his groin smashed.

I like to think that retirement is just around the corner for Kharitonov, and it includes a farm somewhere in Mother Russia, with a tractor he can sit upon and mooing cows he can greet every morning.

But until then, there’s Mitrione, wrecking his junk.
