Batista in Talks With WWE for WrestleMania 35

The match between Triple H and Batista was all but a certainty after SmackDown 1000. However, soon after the episode, things got quiet once again around Batista.

Negotiations With the WWE

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, talks are currently happening between the Guardians of the Galaxy superstar and the WWE.

Batista was rumored to return to WrestleMania 35. But, now it would seem there is no concrete deal in place as of yet. The delay could be attributed to a number of factors including the arrival of AEW as well as the injury Triple H suffered at WWE Crown Jewel.

Interest From AEW?

One of the reasons why Batista has not confirmed his return could be down to AEW. Rumor has it that the company has an interest in signing Batista, with Batista also having an interest in joining the indie promotion. Since AEW is financed by the Khan family, they could back their offer up with some serious money.

Triple H Injury?

Triple H got injured at WWE Crown Jewel, which put the original plans for WrestleMania 35 in jeopardy. That being said, H has been cleared to train again, a fact he revealed on a recent media call.

Since H is back in the game, forgive the pun, the match should be happening at WrestleMania. That being said, nobody has any idea what is going on behind closed doors. I have no doubt the WWE will put some deal on the table for Batista. And the AEW rumors are literally just rumors at this point. So, it is hard to determine how things are going to turn out.

With the way things are going in the WWE at the moment, they could certainly benefit from having Batista on the card for WrestleMania. As it is, the company is struggling to keep their ratings up with multiple injuries and absences, Roman Reigns being the most notable one.

Of course, hope dwindles for me at the moment, especially when I know Brock Lesnar is still the WWE Universal Champion and there is some talk about Seth Rollins being injured. Seth was my hope for a new and decent Universal Champion, but that could fall in the water at this point in time. Honestly, the last thing we need is another year of Brock Lesnar as a champion. So, for the WWE’s sake, I hope they have a failsafe in place.
