Thanks to a beatdown at the hands of lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov, former champ Conor McGregor might have lost a little bit of luster. He needs a win.

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is getting older by the minute, and though he just whooped a young whippersnapper’s ass when he beat Alexander Hernandez at UFC on ESPN+1, the likelihood of him building up any significant momentum is dwindling. He needs a payday.

Both men are pretty popular. So of course, when Cowboy suggested that he and McGregor do the dance, the idea took off. Even our favorite Irishman seems on board with it.

Of course, since the UFC is about making those fights that move the needle, the bout won’t happen unless it’s clear fans want it. So Cowboy and McGregor have been doing their part to hype this thing on social media.
