After plans to have Paulo Costa and Yoel Romero throw down last November fell through, the UFC is reportedly working on finalizing a new date for the middleweights to battle.

The promotion had hoped to have Costa and Romero scrap at UFC 230, but due to injuries the latter sustained in his June defeat to champ, Robert Whittaker, that didn’t happen. Well, now Combate is reporting that the UFC is trying to add Costa – Romero to its April 27th card in Miami, Florida.

MMA Junkie is also reporting that the fight is in motion.

Romero (13-3) lost via split decision to Whittaker in his last bout, which marked the second time he’s lost to the champ via the judges’ scorecards.

Costa (12-0), meanwhile, took out Uriah Hall in his last outing, which moved his UFC record to 4-0.

The upcoming Miami event will be broadcast on ESPN.
