Following Fedor Emelianenko’s violent and quick defeat at the hands of Ryan Bader, the legendary heavyweight has posted a statement and updated fans on his condition.

Fedor faced Bader in the headliner of Bellator 214 on Friday, in what was also the finals for the promotion’s heavyweight grand-prix. Bader quickly floored the Russian star, however, and then opened up a cut on Emelianenko with follow-up punches.

Since then, Emelianenko shared out the comments below via Instagram:

After the fight, I feel good, the dissection over the eye is not deep, yesterday I had several stitches. I think it will heal in a couple of weeks. I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me get ready, who came to the fight, and who got up early to watch the match. Thank you all for your support and your prayers. All the will of God.

Now it remains to be seen whether the 42-year-old legend retires. Prior to Bellator 214, Fedor acknowledged that retirement is nearing.
