WWE's WM 35 Match For Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels made a huge return recently at WWE’s November event, Crown Jewel, wrestling his first match in eight years after retiring in 2010. Diving into tag team action with fellow DX member HHH, the two men proved that while they aren’t the young bucks they use to be, in many ways, they still ‘got it’ in that squared circle.

But, the real question is, does the Heartbreak Kid still have what it takes to pull off a singles bout on the Grandest Stage of Them All? He isn’t called Mr. Wrestlemania for nothing! It seems as if the WWE is hoping that HBK still has ‘one more match’ in him.

Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast’s Joe Peisich recently noted that the WWE has ‘penciled in’ a student versus teacher match that would pit the New Daniel Bryan versus none other than his mentor, Shawn Michaels. This would be an especially interesting match if DB still holds that coveted WWE World Heavyweight Championship when Wrestlemania 35 rolls around.

Can the WWE and Michaels come to an agreement to make this happen? Only time will tell.

– And the CM Punk/Colt Cabana saga continues! As we can all recall, what initially launched all the lawsuit drama was Punk participating in Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast some years prior, where he made bold statements about Chris Amann, WWE’s doctor, which resulted in Amann suing both Colt and Punk.

Unfortunately, while Dr. Chris Amann wasn’t successful in his lawsuit, the friendship between Cabana and Punk had been severely strained, and the two seemingly are no longer the buddies they use to be.

Adding another chapter to this entire story, which seems more like a wrestling program than real-life, Colt ended up suing his friend Punk for malice and fraud after the Amann lawsuit was settled. While CM Punk promised to pay for Cabana’s legal fees, as the case dragged, Colt’s legal bills began to mount. As a result, Cabana launched a lawsuit of his own against Punk for $200,000 in legal bills (that he was stuck to pay), and $1 million in punitive damages.

According to PW Insider, Cabana’s initial lawsuit was thrown out this past November in an Illinois Cook County Circuit Court by Judge Daniel Kubasiak. As it wasn’t thrown without prejudice, Cabana was able to re-file the case 10 days later.

Cabana’s new filing alleges that he agreed to pursue the lawsuit from Amann, as long as Punk agreed to pay for the legal fees. An element in this agreement meant that Cabana would not take down the podcast, which was part of the doctor’s demands. In addition, Colt has relayed in this new lawsuit, that had Punk not agreed to pay for legal representation, then Cabana would have hired his own attorneys. According to Colt, Punk was aware that he was going to settle with Dr. Amann, and not assist him with a defence against the Amann lawsuit.

Cabana’s stance on the entire issue is that had he adhered to Dr. Chris Amann’s demands, then he wouldn’t have had to go through the lawsuit, which ended up requiring legal fees. Colt is also asking that the case be presented in a jury trial format.

WNZ will continue to keep fans in the loop regarding any additional updates on this case.
