Former UFC champions Junior dos Santos and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua each picked up finishes Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 142.
The event aired live on FOX Sports 1 from Adelaide, Australia and the Adeliade Entertainment Center.
Dos Santos, the former heavyweight champion, earned a second round TKO vs. Tai Tuivasa in the main event, with Rua stopping Tyson Pedro in the third round in the co-main.
Justin Willis bested Mark Hunt in another heavyweight bout, with Anthony Rocco Martin, Sodiq Yusuff and Jimmy Crute adding main card wins.
On the prelims, Alexey Kunchenko, Wilson Reis, Keita Nakamura, Kai Kara-France, Christos Giagos and Damir Ismagulov all were victorious.
Kara-France and Elias Garcia earned “Fight of the Night” honors, with Rua and Yusuff each picking up “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
The attendance was announced at 8,652 with a live gate of $1,026,937.
