Kamaru Usman cemented himself as a future welterweight title contender Friday night, earning a victory over former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

The bout served as the main event to The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale and aired live on FOX Sports 1.

Usman, himself a former TUF winner, improved to 14-1 with the victory, adding dos Anjos to a list that also includes Demian Maia, Warlley Alves and Leon Edwards. He is 9-0 since joining the UFC in 2015.

Claiming tournament titles from The Ultimate Fighter 28 were Juan Espino and Macy Chiasson, who both scored submission victories.

Espino became the oldest winner of TUF, securing an armlock on Justin Frazier in the first round. Chiasson submitted Pannie Kianzad in the second with a rear-naked choke.

Pedro Munhoz finished Bryan Caraway, Edmen Shahbazyan topped Darren Stewart and Antonina Shevchenko – the sister of title contender Valentina Shevchenko – bested Ji Yeon Kim.

Earning prelim victories were Kevin Aguilar, Joseph Benavidez, Maurice Greene, Leah Letson, Roosevelt Roberts, Tim Means and Raoni Barcelos.
