Recently it was reported that the UFC was working on a bout between Cain Velasquez and Francis Ngannou, and now Dana White’s reporting the fight’s a go.

Earlier this month ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reported that the UFC was targeting its February 17th card in Phoenix for Velasquez – Ngannou. More recently, White has confirmed to ESPN that the heavyweights will battle at the aforementioned event.

Due to injuries, Velasquez (14-2) hasn’t fought since July, 2016, when he put away Travis Browne in the opening round. The former champ is 4-1 in his last 5 bouts, but due to various injuries, Velasquez has only fought six times since 2011.

Ngannou (12-3) recently got back on track in impressive fashion, as the feared slugger stopped Curtis Blaydes at UFC Beijing last month. Ngannou was coming off consecutive losses to Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis.

So, this is a massive fight for the heavyweight division. Will Velasquez score a win at the event and move into a title shot?
