Cub Swanson Shoots Down Report of Jose Aldo, UFC 233 Rematch

Jose Aldo and Cub Swanson are not going to fight again at UFC 233 after all….

Recently it was reported that a rematch between the featherweights was planned for the January 26th card in Anaheim. But, more recently, Swanson shot down that report via the tweet below:

I love this fight but unfortunately somebody spoke too soon. I am not fighting on 233 but I am willing to do it February 17th on ESPN 1

So, this is unfortunate news, but it will be interesting to see if the match-up gets moved to February as Swanson suggested.

Swanson and Aldo battled for the first time at WEC 41 way back in 2009, and the latter stopped Swanson in just eight seconds.
