Francis Ngannou served up a violent reminder of what he can do at UFC Beijing today, and following the pivotal win, the heavyweight announced the “real Predator” is back.
Ngannou faced Curtis Blaydes in the card’s main event and proceeded to floor the wrestler with a booming right hand, moments in. Blayes valiantly attempted to recover and fight back, but after taking some more shots, the bout was stopped.
Well, following the crucial victory, which ended a two-fight losing skid for Blaydes, the feared slugger reflected on the win.
“The goal tonight was to wake up ‘The Predator’, the real ‘Predator'”, said Ngannou. “People had doubt about if it’s done, if it’s gone, something like that…I stumbled but I didn’t fall.”
There’s no question there was a lot of speculation lately as to where Ngannou’s head was at, and whether he could or would work his way back into title contention. By taking out the #3 ranked heavyweight in Blaydes, however, Ngannou could be one big win away from fighting for the title again.
