Hitting the 200,000 pay-per-view buy mark is a rare thing in the MMA world, outside of the UFC, but Tito Ortiz sounds pretty confident that his bout with Chuck Liddell will blow past that mark.

The legendary fighters and former UFC 205 champs are going to fight for a third time this Saturday in Los Angeles. The card will be streamed via FITE TV.

Recently Ortiz spoke with TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, and while discussing how he expects the PPV to do, the California fighter said this (quote via MMA Mania):

To be a real success… a low number, 200? I mean, that’s shootin’ super low. If me and Chuck do 200,000 PPV buys, we shouldn’t even be in the business. I think this thing knocks it out of the park, I think we have a home run ahead of us, and I think all the fans at home will be interested in this fight because they want to see how this thing turns out.

Now, it would be kind of shocking if Liddell – Ortiz sold over 200,000 PPVs, when you consider the current environment in MMA. Although, the event will be priced around $20 – 25 less than UFC cards  (apparently FITE TV will be offering the event for even less during a brief window on Black Friday).

Liddell fought Ortiz and 2004 and then again in 2006, and stopped his rival in bout fights.
