“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Has Stopped Drinking Beer? No Way!
There's probably nothing that goes better with beer than "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but he recently revealed that he's no longer drinking beer.
Probably even more than a hot dog or chicken wings, there’s probably nothing that goes better with beer than “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
In the mid-90s and beyond, the WWE star was famous for drinking beer, catching beer, pouring beer all over his opponents, and even drove a Coors Light truck into the arena to hose down The Rock, Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon with beer.
Has Stone Cold stopped drinking beer?
On his podcast “The Steve Austin Show” recently, the “Texas Rattlesnake” revealed that he had stopped drinking alcohol due to his strict diet program and exercise regimen.
The UK’s Daily Mirror transcribed his comments.
“My eating program is going fantastic. [I’m] sticking to my exact macros,” said Austin. “Zero alcohol for right at 14 days now. Pounds are coming off. My strength is going up. Jesus Christ, I’m getting as strong as a goddamn horse over here.
“No alcohol and when you hit the weights on a consistent basis and eat what you’re supposed to, it is amazing the difference that you can make or I’m making,” Austin said. “I’m also doing my DDP Yoga s***. Hell, I’m going to jump up here and do the splits like a god-dang cheerleader in a minute! I’m flexible as a mother******.”
“Dallas’ program works like a b****. I appreciate it, Dallas. I appreciate it, man. That’s a bad ass program. I’m sticking to it!,” he added, touting the popular yoga program (though DDP doesn’t want it to be called “yoga” anymore).
Austin says in lieu of alcohol he has tried medical marijuana to soothe his old ring injuries, but unfortunately it made him paranoid.
“I’m thinking, ‘man, here I am, retired from the wrestling business, a global icon and a national treasure, and I’m about to get busted for f****** one joint because I wanted to try out a god damn marijuana cigarette, so I could get away from the booze,” Austin said.

For years – ever since he retired – fans have wondered if Steve Austin might have one more match in him. In August, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE might offer Austin a huge payday if he wanted to work WrestleMania next year.
While you never say never in the pro wrestling business, Austin addressed this on his podcast last year:
“I’m 52, and I get these emails all the time asking why I don’t come back. They’ll say, so and so did it. Goldberg did it, and you know what, I’m happy for all my friends that are making comebacks. Bill [Goldberg] going in and beating Brock Lesnar was awesome, setting it up for Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, but I’m not making no comeback. I had someone cuss me out on the email the other day saying that they hated my guts because I wouldn’t do it a comeback, but listen, I’m done”
“I road off into the sunset in 2003, whenever it was, after Wrestlemania 19; came back for a couple of appearances, but I’m done, and I’m happy being done, and I don’t want the pressure of having another match on my shoulders, because I don’t have to have another match because I’m satisfied with the career that I had. I appreciate everyone that had supported my career. Pro Wrestling has springboarded every endeavor that I am involved in right now, and I love the business, and the WWE and all the organizations that I work for, but man, I’m done.”
So there you have it…
…and apparently “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is done with beer too! What has this world come to!
