Original Brock Lesnar Plans

After Roman Reigns reveled that his battle with leukemia had returned, he was forced to vacate the Universal Championship. At Crown Jewel, Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman in a little over three minutes to begin his second reign as champion.

We noted how Lesnar’s new deal involves two more matches, with a Survivor Series rematch against AJ Styles already confirmed. The other meeting will likely be in 2019 at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 35.

During theWrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how Lesnar was supposed to finish up with WWE at Crown Jewel but things clearly changed because of the situation involving Reigns. Originally, Reigns was set to retain the title and Lesnar would then exit WWE to focus on a UFC return.

The new contract was signed by Lesnar somewhere in the last week and it is not exclusive to WWE. That means, Lesnar is able to work for the UFC without having to gets WWE’s blessing.

No word if Lesnar will appear on TV before Survivor Series in two weeks.

– At yesterday’s UFC 230 from Madison Square Garden, Daniel Cormier successfully defended the Heavyweight Championship against Derrick Lewis. As seen in the post fight interview, Cormier said that he wants Brock Lesnar to bring the Universal Championship to the UFC so he can also add that title his collection.

“Brock Lesnar when you come, bring that brand new WWE title because I feel like being a WWE champion too,” said Cormier. “Let’s go, Brock. Bring that belt with you if you come to my house.”

The idea for Lesnar vs. Cormier started at UFC 226. After Cormier won the title, Lesnar entered the Octagon and shoved the newly crowned champion. While the match is not officially signed, it has been rumored for the first quarter of 2019 and would serve as Cormier’s retirement bout.
