Bo Duke is just a good ole’ boy, never meaning no harm, but don’t tell Hollywood liberals that. John Schneider, who played the handsome, blonde-haired Bo Duke on the hit television series the “Dukes of Hazzard” in the 1980s says that while there are many conservative actors, most are reluctant to “come out of the Republican closet.”

Schneider told Fox News:

“I do think there’s a bias against conservatives, Republicans, in Hollywood… [But] if you believe it, speak it, live it.”

Schneider does live it – including not being hesitant to say who he supported in the 2016 presidential election.

‘Bo Duke’ proudly voted for Donald Trump

“I supported the last president [even though] I didn’t vote for him, but I supported him because I believe that’s my duty as a United States citizen,” Schneider said, referring to Barack Obama. “The difference here is that I did vote [for Trump] and I don’t mind people knowing that.”

In addition to his success with “Dukes of Hazzard,” Schneider was also a star on “Smallville,” is a country singer, and even had a run on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Schneider’s conservative leanings are not new, and while he is open about voting for Trump, it’s not something he flaunts regularly. In a March interview with Hollywood Reporter about Schneider’s work on a pro-life movie, the actor says he doesn’t appreciate when others try to browbeat or shout down those they disagree with.

“You can tell if someone is about social intercourse or just about browbeating somebody with their opinion,” Schneider said. “It’s no fun arguing with a closed-minded person.”

Schneider is also a Christian. When asked if there was anti-Christian bigotry in Hollywood, he replied, “Sure, there’s Christian bigotry. There’s also Democrat bigotry, Republican bigotry, straight bigotry, and homosexual bigotry. There’s a lot of people here.”
