Details On Kurt Angle’s Controversial Tap Out, No More Overruns On RAW

– While it wasn’t that surprising that Drew McIntyre defeated Kurt Angle during this week’s Monday Night RAW main event, the way in which he won stirred a ton of controversy with the WWE Universe as the WWE Hall of Famer tapped out to McIntyre via his own signature submission, The Angle Lock.

Many fans and sports entertainment media saw this booking as a huge disrespect to Kurt, especially with all he’s contributed to the company as of late. Well, a report from Sports Illustrated sheds some light on the reasoning behind all this, and additional details on the entire matter. Turns out that the idea was collaboratively decided upon by Kurt Angle and Vince McMahon that Monday, and it was to relay the story of Angle having zero hopes of captaining RAW’s Survivor Series team this year. The concept was presented to McIntyre shortly after, by Angle, and Drew delivered upon the request in full force.

– Three (long) hours of Monday Night RAW is sometimes hard for any WWE fan; however, it’s especially tedious when the show goes over their 11: p.m. EST time slot, which happens far more often than not.

Well, according to Fightful, these RAW overrun times might be coming to a close, and as soon as this Monday night. While RAW has always enjoyed what is referred to as a ‘soft’ exit time, which means there’s never been pressure to end the show at an exact time, since their inception in the 1990s, sources now state that this is set to change very soon, and many are claiming it will happen come the very next RAW, scheduled for this November 12^th. According to Fightful, this has been rolled out directly from the USA Network.

SmackDown LIVE currently operates under a stick time out, ending at 10 p.m. EST, without budging, and it looks like RAW will be doing so as well shortly.
