It’s going to take a miracle for Alistair Overeem to ever fight for a UFC belt again, but at least he can still manage to win against scrubs.

And in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 141 in Beijing, China, Overeem took on promotional newcomer Sergey Pavlovich – the scrubbiest of scrubs. Still, the “Reem” won, so… yay!

To his credit, the Russian did manage to wobble our favorite over-juiced PRIDE FC vet early with a punch. However, the following clinchwork and wrestling did him no favors, and eventually Overeem got the takedown and wound up in Pavlovich’s guard. From there it was ground-and-pound city, with Overeem getting the win via TKO.

I don’t want to say that he’s back, but it seems like we’ll have the old Dutch action figure around a little while longer.
