When Peyton Royce and Billie Kay (The IIconics) still worked NXT, I actually mentioned to my other half they would be a great start for a women’s tag team division in the WWE. Now, with their arrival on the main roster, it would seem the WWE is considering a tag team division for the female roster. Here is the story!

Tag Team Match at Super Show-Down

IIconics

One of the indicators that the WWE could be considering a women’s tag team division came at Australia’s Super Show-Down, where the IIconics faced the team of Naomi and Asuka. While one could explain the reason for the match was the Australian nationality of the IIconics, there are other indicators of a future women’s tag team division.

The arrival of the IIconics was one of the biggest signs for me that the WWE could be considering a tag team division for their female roster. Most people expected the pair to be put into singles, but the pair have remained a team. Naturally, this led to speculation of a tag team division being built, with the IIconics possibly at the helm.

The IIconics React To Their Families Watching Them

Since both members of the IIconics are native Australians, they must make huge sacrifices to be in the WWE. Since the WWE has most of its shows in the United States, the pair have to miss their friends and family for long periods of time.

During an interview after their victory at Super Show-Down, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were both given videos of their family and friends watching them make their entrance. Needless to say, it was a beautiful emotional moment that tugs on the heartstrings.

There is a reason for me putting that video here today. It shows everyone just how much of a sacrifice both women have made to be on the highest level of professional wrestling. It also shows that this dedication is more than deserving of a tag team division, enabling them to travel and work together for the foreseeable future.

Also, the WWE should really give their stars Christmas as a holiday. The WWE uses their respective television contracts as an excuse, but these people have one of the toughest jobs in the world. Giving them Christmas to be with friends and family is the least that can be done.

They Will Make History

IIconics

I have been following the IIconics since NXT and I believe with all my heart these women have what it takes to lead the women’s tag team division. They have been ready for a long time, all it takes is a little extra effort from the WWE to make things happen.

A women’s tag team division would not just make things more interesting on SmackDown, it can be a turning point for Raw as well. Many female athletes on both rosters have nothing to do at this point, since there is only one title to fight for at one given time. If you add a tag team division to each brand, you will have at least four women with a pay-per-view worthy rivalry. Something to think about!
