Irish combat sports superstar and window smasher Conor McGregor made the impossible happen by crossing over to boxing and facing Floyd Mayweather. Now McGregor is so rich he can swim in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck, while Mayweather can add another vault full of priceless artifacts to his mansion.

But UFC champ Khabib Nurmagomedov beat McGregor recently, and so of course the discussion around the water cooler has been something along the lines of, “Wait, how would Khabib do against Mayweather?”

Seriously, what the hell, people! How is this even a point of conversation?

McGregor was just the right kind of trash-talker and capable striker to make that Mayweather fight happen. He was perfect for the crossover, and the fight made everyone involved stupid amounts of money. But Khabib… Khabib isn’t any kind of trash-talker. He’ll jump into the audience to fight with Mayweather’s entourage, but his ability to hype a fight hovers around zero.

As for the Dagestani’s propensity for boxing, yeah, that’s nonexistent too. Which has forced UFC honcho Dana White to put his foot down and say that if Khabib and Mayweather were to ever fight – AND THAT’S A BIG “IF” – it would be in the MMA cage.
