SmackDown’s Female Wrestlers Unhappy with Evolution’s Battle Royal

The female wrestlers of the SmackDown brand are far from happy at the moment, especially when they found out they were all placed in a women’s battle royal at Evolution. Why are they unhappy you may wonder? Well, we are here to answer your questions!

Who Is Unhappy with the Battle Royal?

While only some women on the SmackDown roster have put their unhappiness into a pointed tweet, I can assume most women who are included in the match are far from happy. However, the women who have posted their discontent on social media include Lana, Naomi, Carmella, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, and Mandy Rose.

Why Is This a Big Deal?

For those of you who have not watched wrestling in the past five years, it may not be as clear why the women of SmackDown Live are upset with their participation in the Women’s Battle Royal. In short, Battle Royals have become somewhat of a participation award. Winning does not mean anything anymore. So, this is basically filler and most of the SmackDown women are put on that match.

I cannot understand why there is a need for a Battle Royal in the first place. There is an entire pay-per-view with only female wrestlers? Couldn’t they have come up with some interesting feuds, Tornado Tags, or even a triple threat? To say that I’m disappointed would be an understatement.

There is so much talent on the SmackDown roster it is not even funny. Yet, the WWE insist on putting them in a lazy Battle Royal. They could have done so much with the likes of Asuka, Mandy Rose, and IIconics. Uh, why do I even bother?

I can imagine how offended these female performers are. Hell, I’m even offended and I don’t wrestle. Evolution is starting to feel like a “pity” pay-per-view, opposed to the revolutionary event the WWE promised.

At Least Torrie Wilson Is Happy

Not everyone is unhappy with the Battle Royal situation though, because Torrie Wilson was announced as one of the participants. She followed up the announcement with quite the funny video on her social media, which I could not wait to share with you.
