Vinny Magalhaes, Sean O’Connell, Nathan Schulte and Rashid Magomedov all advanced to the finals of their respective weight classes at Professional Fighters League 9 Saturday night.
The main card aired live on NBC Sports Network from the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California. Both the first round and semifinals were held in the light heavyweight and lightweight tournaments.
Magalhaes, a former finalist on The Ultimate Fighter, submitted both Bazigit Atajev and Rakim Cleveland via first round kimuras to advance, as he’ll meet O’Connell, a double-winner over Smealinho Rama ad Dan Spohn.
Schulte advanced via being the higher seed in the first round when he fought Johnny Case to a draw, adding a split decision over Chris Wade. He now gets Magomedov, who also moved on after a draw and with a TKO of Thiago Tavares.
