Canelo Alvarez

DAZN already has Anthony Joshua under contract.

Now, the streaming service has added Canelo Alvarez to the provider for the next 11 fights in the career of the current WBC, WBA and Ring middleweight champion.

That starts on December 15 when Alvarez moves up to super middleweight to challenge titleholder Rocky Fielding at Madison Square Garden. He is coming off a win over Gennady Golovkin in their rematch.

“It’s an honor to fight in New York, in MSG,” Alvarez said during a press conference announcing the deal. “I’m very happy and it’s another chapter in my career.

“(Fielding) is going to be a challenge, but that’s what we like.”

Alvarez signed an 11-fight deal believed to be worth $365 million. DAZN is currently valued at $9.99 per month, while the most recent Alvarez pay-per-view fights cost $84.95.

“I am excited to announce a historic partnership between DAZN, Canelo Alvarez and Golden Boy Boxing,” John Skipper, DAZN executive chairman, posted on Twitter. “It all starts Dec. 15 live and exclusively on DAZN!”

Alvarez was asked about the prospects of a third meeting with GGG. The first bout was ruled a draw between the two.

“If the people want to see a third fight, I will gladly have one,” he said.
