Amanda Serrano

Amanda Serrano has captured female boxing titles in five different weight classes.

Saturday night, Serrano can join Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao as the only fighters to ever achieve gold in six separate divisions.

Serrano meets Yamilla Reynoso for the WBO 140-pound title in the featured bout during the live stream, which begins at 7 p.m. ET. The night builds towards a bout for the WBO welterweight title between Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter live on Showtime from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Serrano, who has also started to dabble in MMA under the Combate Americas banner, knows the importance of her fight.

“I’m excited and honored to have a chance to join Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao as six-division world champions. I’m going to go out and perform and give the fans some excitement,” Serrano said during a recent press conference. “It’s one step at a time for female boxing but this is a very important fight. Things are on the rise but there is still a lot of room to rise up. This fight is another way to show people how many talented female fighters there are out there.

“Moving up in weight has been great. I’ve been able to eat and I feel stronger than ever. I think it’s going to lead to one of my best performances.”

The 29-year-old Serrano made her last appearance in this very same venue, stopping Marilyn Hernandez in the first round to improve to 34-1-1 in her career. She also scored a TKO vs. Dahiana Santana in 2017 inside the Barclays Center to capture the WBO bantamweight belt.

“Fighting in Brooklyn is always a great thrill. Barclays Center is right around the corner from house and it’s great to have a lot of supporters out there cheering me on. I love Brooklyn and I’m going to give them another night to remember,” she said. “I want to fight all of the champions out there and continue to do great things in this sport. The sky is the limit and I’m going to keep pushing it.”

Along with Garcia vs. Porter and Serrao vs. Reynoso, the card also features Yordenis Ugas taking on Cesar Barrionuevo in a title-eliminator in the welterweight division, and heavyweights Charles Martin and Adam Kownacki doing battle.
