The Bludgeon Brothers may actually be cursed. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper can’t seem to be healthy together for too long. Both behemoths have missed a lot of time over the last few years due to injury. It looked like The Bludgeons were primed for another big run after winning the SmackDown tag titles and steamrolling all of their competition. Alas, this won’t be the case. Rowan injured himself during their brief but violent SummerSlam match against The New Day.

Via PWI:

“Rowan is not at tonight’s live event in Atlantic City and we are told he is getting the injury evaluated.  The word among some WWE talents today is that it may be a bicep injury but again that is not 100 percent confirmed.”

The Wrestling Observer later confirmed the injury. What does this mean? Well, there could be some good out of it. Luke Harper has proven himself a solid singles wrestler in the past. Perhaps this will be a time to give the big and agile wrestler a singles push. Maybe he can challenge for the WWE title like he did a few years back? The two still had a helluva match against the New Day on SmackDown, dropping their titles to the Pancakers in the process.

We will keep you updated.
