Ever since Tim Tebow announced earlier this week that he is dating Miss Universe, fans have been wondering about the story behind their romance. Now, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is talking about what made her fall for the Christian athlete and it is a sweet story.
Tim Tebow is as well known for his Christian faith as he is for his athletic prowess. The former Heisman trophy winner lives his faith by comitting to a wholesome life and doing good deeds. Through his Tim Tebow Foundation, he works very closely with people with disabilities.
This is important to the 2017 Miss Universe as her sister is disabled. The cause that is near and dear to both of their hearts brought this attractive couple together.
“I don’t know if you know, but I have a half-sister who was born with a disability and his foundation [The Tim Tebow Foundation] works very closely with children with disabilities,” Nel-Peters said. “They have an event each year called ‘Night to Shine’ and they host them each year in churches and in different countries and he invited me and my family. We started talking and we kinda haven’t stopped.”
The speculation about the budding romance started when Tim’s sister Katie posted a picture with the couple on Instagram.
Miss Universe looks rather smitten with the baseball player. This well-rounded man appears to finally have a woman who truly appreciates him.
“There’s somebody. Anele, I’m sure you will definitely approve of him,” Nel-Peters, 23, said, in a recent interview “He’s very special and just such a big blessing in my life. He’s currently a baseball player and a former NFL player … look at all those titles I just dropped. I’m very proud.”
The feeling appears to be mutual. Tebow doesn’t usually talk about his relationships, but this one must be special.
“She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life,” Tebow said. “I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful.”
