Miranda Maverick already has a name that should keep her on the minds of MMA fans.

Saturday night at Invicta FC 30, the 21-year-old will meet Brogan Walker-Sanchez as part of the UFC Fight Pass event from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City.

Maverick is part of that next generation of female fighters who will enter the sport having been heavily influenced by Ronda Rousey. She took up jiu-jitsu at 16 after watching Rousey dominate inside the Octagon, joining her high school wrestling team shortly after.

Following a 7-1 run as an amateur competing for Kansas City Fighting Alliance, ShoFight and The Blue Corner, Maverick signed with Invicta FC in 2016.

She promptly went out and locked up a first round submission vs. Samantha Diaz, following that up a few months later with another first round submission. This time, she locked in an armbar on Kalyn Schwartz.

Last July, Maverick went the full 15 minutes, securing a decision vs. Gabby Romero.

The Springfield Fight Club member is a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. Maverick also appears to be fully capable of competing in the flyweight division from her social media posts:
