Archie Bunker

Archie Bunker may not have been one of the most articulate characters on TV, but he is one of the most memorable.

He never worried about being patriotic and was always politically incorrect.

As a Veteran and a hardworking American, Bunker was not about to stand by and let someone disrespect the National Anthem.

Archie Bunker Defends National Anthem

When it comes to the debate over Colin Kaepernick’s protests during the National Anthem, it’s pretty clear that Archie would not have approved. Archie Bunker loved being an American.

While watching a game with his son-in-law Meathead, Archie got upset because liberal Meathead said the National Anthem was an awful song because it glorified war.

The leftist also objects to the confusing words that are in the song. Archie came to the ‘Star Spangled Banner’s’ defense.

When Archie tried to sing the song on his own, he got the very first part right but then slipped up a bit. This is classic “All In The Family.”

Archie’s loyalty to our nation is on full display even if his singing skills are not. Meathead is complaining like the leftist he is and Edith ends the clip by giving us a good laugh!

If you remember “All In the Family,” you will love watching the clip below.

Political Correctness

All In The Family” was one of the most beloved shows of the 1970s.

Archie Bunker was not politically correct and that’s what we loved about him. The opinionated patriarch certainly was ahead of his time. I suppose you could say Archie Bunker’s views were timeless.

Many of us can still relate to his unfiltered comments about the changing world.

The character Archie Bunker was a World War II veteran and a blue collar worker. So this red-blooded American was not about to let Meathead trash our National Anthem.

Even though he disagreed with Meathead on nearly everything, Bunker still accepted him as part of the family. Back then, people had a sense of humor and families always came first.

The Bunker family was relatable to so many families during the 1970s. His blue-collar background and patriotism were on full display in each episode.

And, ironically, Meathead turned out to be a Meathead in real life. Rob Reiner is a big liberal until this day.
