Daniel Bryan is medically cleared to wrestle, which spawned a match with Shane McMahon as his tag team partner, facing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. If Owens and Zayn lose, they remain fired from SmackDown Live. If they win, they get their jobs back. So, who will win this tag team battle?

Sandra’s Predictions:

It is Daniel Bryan’s first match in three years, and I am excited! The feud has been building for a while, so a return of Daniel Bryan could not have come at a better time. The “Yep” movement takes on the legendary “Yes” movement, so I am sure this match will be fantastic.

While I am intrigued who will win this match, many of us cannot wait to see Daniel Bryan in action again. The man has so much passion for the business; it is difficult not to like him. He is sure to put on a good show making the winner of the match much less critical. However, if Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens do not win the match, they will still be fired from SmackDown Live.

Most people believe Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens must win the match. I do not agree though, because they can as easily be transferred to the Raw brand. It is also Daniel Bryan’s comeback match and his popularity would make a loss unwise.

There is something else to consider with this match. Daniel Bryan will not be as active as most wrestlers on the roster, because there are only so many bumps the man can take at this point. They are keeping a close eye on him medically; this means that a win for the SmackDown general manager is by no means guaranteed. I believe he will continue the role of SmackDown general manager with the occasional fights. For storyline progression, it could make less sense for him to take the win.

While I would love to see Daniel Bryan victorious, there is little chance the WWE will take that route. Therefore, I predict Owens and Zayn will take the win at WrestleMania 34.

Katie’s Predictions:

Not only will this be Daniel Bryan’s first WrestleMania match in three years, but somehow Shane McMahon has been cleared to wrestle while recovering from diverticulitis. For that reason alone, I’m convinced that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will pick up the win and ruin Bryan’s triumphant return to the ring.

That’s not a bad thing, though. In fact, I think a loss in New Orleans will be better for Bryan than a win. Think about it: Bryan and Shane have had a strained relationship for months. With Shane suffering from a legitimate and severe medical condition, he’ll be easy pickins for Zayn and Owens. So Team Yep will pick up the win and be reinstated on SmackDown. Then Bryan can go on to feud with either one of them, or Shane. Possibility abounds with a WrestleMania loss for Bryan.

Also, consider this: Bryan’s whole schtick is that he’s the ultimate underdog. He’d only just reached the pinnacle of his career when he was forced to retire. Now he’s miraculously clawed his way back to the ring after years of testing… and WWE is just gonna let him win? I don’t think so. Can you imagine how hated Owens and Zayn (and maybe Shane) will be if they win? Can you imagine how much more fans will invest in Bryan’s story if he loses? It will be nothing short of epic.

I couldn’t be happier for Daniel Bryan’s in-ring return. I teared up when he made his announcement that he’d been cleared, and I don’t doubt I’ll do the same on Sunday.

Hunter’s Predictions:

I can’t believe Daniel Bryan is coming back. That isn’t hyperbole. Every few hours it hits me that Daniel Bryan, who I saw run the gauntlet at Wrestlemania 30 in the Superdome, who overcame every obstacle put in his place, who was forced into retirement, back in the ring wrestling against two of the most popular and crazy young wrestlers in WWE. Oh, yea, and actual crazy DeathWish person Shane McMahon is in the match too. The prediction for this match doesn’t matter because of the reaction for Daniel Bryan. The roof might very well explode. I’m already planning on having my speakers turned down when it happens. Daniel Bryan getting the hot tag from Shane will cause some tears. Because then, it will be official. I’ve seen talk of Shane “turning” on Bryan and the two feuding into SummerSlam. I hope that doesn’t happen. I and a lot of other fans want Bryan right back in a title hunt.

Daniel Bryan wins.
