Spring has been slow to start across the country this year, and people are sick of it. But Michigan meteorologist Garry Frank is sick of people complaining about his forecasts.
When Frank’s coworkers at local Grand Rapids station WXMI protested the unseasonably cold forecast yet again, Frank let out a hilarious rant live on-air that has gone viral.
“You guys are dragging me down. Every time I get done with the seven-day (forecast), you guys are like, ‘Ughhh, goshh, ahhh,’” Frank said. “Doesn’t matter what time I come on. 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and then you expect me to be chipper for five straight hours. It’s miserable. What do you want me to do, lie to you? I’ll put 70 every day next time.”
“Here’s a 60, I don’t know if that’s good enough for you guys. Get excited,” Frank sarcastically stated when he finally got around to the forecast. “Maybe I’ll disappoint you with the seven-day here in a few minutes.”

However, despite the relatable rant, Frank did later admit in an interview with BuzzFeed that it’s been especially cold as of late.
“I mean we get that it’s Michigan and it’s not uncommon for this, but it seems like every time we have warmed up, it gets cold again,” Frank said. “So people keep asking me about the warm up and such. But the anchors and everyone always reacted the SAME way all week. I mentioned a couple of warm days and they STILL focused on the cold after.”
Sounds like Frank’s co-workers need to be more grateful for the warm weather they do get!
But even with all the complaints, Frank is glad that his rant brought a smile to people’s faces.
“[A] lot of people said they laughed til they cried or this brightened their day and that’s all I ever wanted from this for being silly for a minute,” he said. “It’s just what we do on the show. When you wake up at 2:00 a.m. every day, you have to entertain yourself at the very least. Keeps us awake.”
