Numerologist Claims Rapture Will Occur April 23

According to an article published in the U.K.’s Daily Express, Christian numerologist David Meade says that biblical prophecy “strongly suggests” that the Rapture will occur on April 23.

On that date, the sun, moon, and Jupiter will all be in Virgo – an event that Meade says was predicted in Revelation 12:1-2:

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.”

In Meade’s theory, Jupiter is representative of the Messiah, while Virgo represents the pregnant woman in the verse, also known as the Woman of the Apocalypse.

Meade further explained how this celestial event represents “the Lion of the tribe of Judah,” marking the Rapture:

He said: “During this time frame, on April 23, 2018 the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo.

“The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo… Jupiter is birthed on April 08, 2018.

“The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo.

“Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker.”

Meade certainly sounds convincing on the surface. But there are some big problems with his theory.

First, the alignment of the sun, moon, and Jupiter in Virgo is hardly a “once-in-a-century sign” – it happens every 12 years. Furthermore, author and chemist Jonathan Sarfati claims that the larger phenomena described by Meade have happened four times in the last millennium.

Second, and more importantly, it says in the Bible that no one can predict the day or time when Christ will return. According to Matthew 24:35-36:

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Third, and most damning, is the fact that this isn’t the first time Meade has failed to predict the end of the world. In fact, he originally said that this exact same event would herald the Rapture on September 23 of last year. When that didn’t come true, he switched the date to October, and then November, and so on.

In other words, take this with a massive grain of salt.
