jay feely gun prom photo

Fathers subtly threatening their daughters’ boyfriends with guns is a trope as old as time. But members of the anti-gun left were recently triggered when former NFL star and CBS sports analyst Jay Feely posted a funny posed prom photo featuring a firearm.

In the photo, Feely stands in between his daughter and her prom date, a gun in his hand. “Wishing my beautiful daughter and her date a great time at prom #BadBoys,” Feely captioned the photo on Twitter.

Judging by their faces in the photo, Feely’s daughter and her date are clearly in on the joke, and Feely is practicing good gun safety by pointing the barrel down and away from them, his finger off the trigger. There’s also a very good chance that the safety is on and it’s unloaded. But liberals who saw the photo on Twitter didn’t take any of that into consideration and immediately attacked.

One person called the photo “terribly out of touch” even though they understood the reference:

Others suggested that Feely’s desire to protect his child indicated that he wanted to take away her free will and considered her his “property”:

And many took the photo as proof that Feely is an irresponsible gun owner.

Amid all the insane liberal outrage, Feely attempted to explain exactly what intelligent people understood from the beginning: that his daughter and her boyfriend were in on the joke and the gun was not loaded.

Of course, the apology wasn’t good enough, and liberals continued to accuse Feely of being tone deaf amid the current social and political climate surrounding students and guns.

First, they come for our guns, and now they’re coming for our sense of humor. If liberals ever get their way, not only will we not be allowed to defend ourselves, but we won’t be allowed to make jokes about anything, either.

Share this if you support Jay Feely’s intended message that he’s raising a daughter who knows her worth!
