McDonalds Happy Meal

Sorry, kids. It looks like the liberals got to Ronald. The food police are taking over one of America’s beloved fast food restaurants in a move that is sure to upset children everywhere.

McDonald’s just announced that cheeseburgers and chocolate milk will no longer be listed as part of Happy Meals. They are banned from the beloved kid-friendly fast food meals. This is being done in an effort to cut back on sugar, sodium, saturated fats and calories.

The fast-food giant says that parents can still specifically order cheeseburgers and chocolate milk with Happy Meals, but they believe not listing them as an option will reduce the frequency of orders on these two items. McDonald’s points to the fact that since they removed soda pop from the Happy Meal menu, orders of the sugary drinks with the kid’s meals have dropped 14 percent.

McDonald’s has made some changes to the Happy Meal menu over the years. They have cut the size of the fry orders and added fruit to the menu. Recently, the company changed its apple juice to one that has less sugar.

The Happy Meal has been a target of the food police for decades. The liberal activists believe that the meals promote childhood obesity. They have been trying to remove the option from parents for decades. A Happy Meal is often a treat for many children and families. It’s not something that is eaten on a regular basis. The food police want to strip even an occasional indulgence from these families. We do not go to McDonald’s for health food.

McDonald’s now wants all of its Happy Meals to be 600 calories or less. The chicken nugget Happy Meal will now come with a kid-size order of fries rather than a regular small fry. The company is hopeful to return chocolate milk to the Happy Meal menu if they can locate an option with less sugar.

Bottled water will be added to the Happy Meal menu, but ironically, it will cost extra when soda does not cost more. These changes are expected to take place in American McDonald’s locations by June.
