Everyone should know that when you are driving a car, it is important to always pay attention to the road in front of you. Several studies have found that distracted driving is actually more dangerous than drunk driving, yet Americans continue to look away from the road every day.
Well, recent dash cam footage shows just what can happen when a driver takes their eyes off the road. A distracted woman slammed into the back of a white 2016 Ford Focus SE Sport, causing a massive pile up on the road.
This woman was driving a Ford Explorer at approximately 60 mph, completely oblivious to the traffic right in front of her.
Had this woman been paying attention, she would have easily seen a large number of cars at a standstill and would have slowed to a complete stop.

We don’t know what this woman was looking at when she smashed into the back of the car ahead, but her actions were completely avoidable. Too often, distracted drivers cause avoidable accidents on the road.

At this time, there is no information on whether or not any of the drivers were injured, but I pray everyone walked away unharmed. Even if no one was hurt, this distracted driver deserves some sort of punishment.
Drivers need to know that distracted driving is extremely dangerous, and will not be tolerated in the future. It is important to note, however, that this driver could have been distracted for just a second, but because she was driving at 60mph, she was “covering more than a hundred feet per second. Fiddle with the GPS for a bit too long, and suddenly an obstacle that was a quarter of a mile away is closing fast.”
