Carrie Underwood was rushed to the hospital after she fell down the stairs outside her Nashville home on Friday night.
The singer’s husband, former NHL star Mike Fisher, traveled back to Nashville to be with her. Her spokesperson said she was treated for a broken wrist as well as cuts and abrasions. Because of her injuries, Underwood was unable to perform at the Country Rising benefit concert on Sunday evening as planned.
The concert raised funds to support victims of the hurricanes in Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico, as well as the Las Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival. George Strait, Martina McBride, Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, and Garth Brooks were among the performers at the star-studded concert. This is a benefit concert that Carrie was apparently looking forward to performing at in the city where she lives. Her injuries were serious enough to prevent that from happening.
Carrie updated her fans on her condition with a tweet. She says her recovery will take some time.

Underwood has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home with her husband Mike Fisher and their son Isaiah. Nobody is immune from taking an occasional tumble. Thankfully, the “American Idol” winner is being well cared for as she is on the mend.
Carrie is a devoted Christian and would likely appreciate any prayers for her recovery. With a young son, Carrie needs the use of both hands, particularly as the holidays quickly approach.
Just days before Carrie’s injury she co-hosted the CMA Awards with fellow country music star Brad Paisley. This was the duo’s 10th time co-hosting the show together.
